Scholarships
In recognition of true academic achievement, Greensboro College is pleased to award the following academic scholarships to prospective, traditional students.
Presidential Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is Greensboro College's most prestigious award. It is a four-year scholarship covering tuition, fees, room and board. In order to be considered for this scholarship a student must meet all of the following criteria:
- Apply before December 15, 2008
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75
- Minimum combined SAT score of 1250 (Math & Critical Reading sections only) or minimum ACT score of 28
The top candidates will be invited to interview with the President of the College. Students must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average to retain the scholarship, and must live on campus.
Solomon Lea Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is only awarded to candidates selected to interview for the Presidential Scholarship but were not selected to receive it. It is a four-year scholarship valued at $17,500. Students must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average to retain this scholarship.
Honors Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is based on an evaluation of academic performance, high school and community involvement, strength of school and curriculum, and personal attributes. It is a four-year scholarship valued at $15,000. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to retain this scholarship.
Trustees Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is based on an evaluation of academic performance, high school and community involvement, strength of school and curriculum, and personal attributes. It is a four-year scholarship valued at $12,500. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to retain this scholarship.
Deans Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is based on an evaluation of academic performance, high school and community involvement, strength of school and curriculum, and personal attributes. It is a four-year scholarship valued at $10,000. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to retain this scholarship.
Founders Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is based on an evaluation of academic performance, high school and community involvement, strength of school and curriculum, and personal attributes. It is a four-year scholarship valued at $7,500. Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average to retain this scholarship.
Achievement Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is based on an evaluation of academic performance, high school and community involvement, strength of school and curriculum, and personal attributes. It is a four-year scholarship valued at $4000. Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average to retain this scholarship.
Performance Scholarship: $1000 scholarships recognizing student performance in the Greensboro College Band or as a member of the Greensboro College Cheerleading Team are available.
Eagle Scout & Gold Award: Up to $2,000 may be awarded to students who have achieved honors in leadership and service as a Boy Scout or Girl Scout.
Heritage Grant: Students who reside outside the state of North Carolina may be eligible for a $2,500 grant-in-aid based on their state of residency. North Carolina students will be awarded the North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant and a Heritage Grant totaling $2,500. This award is renewable for four years.
All students will be evaluated for scholarships based on their complete academic and extracurricular profile.
